For this assignment in our ‘Drawing and Design for Illustrators’ class, we had to draw two scenes in black and white from the Charles Bukowski poem “Another Day”. It was a rather depressing poem, but it was fun just to focus on the values. This has a little bit of cubist influence. I’ve been really, really inspired by Picasso’s work lately. He’s the man.
Top is done in graphite. Bottom is done in ink + charcoal.
The Donington Museum:
The Donington Grand Prix Collection is the largest showcase of Grand Prix racing cars in the world. It houses the largest collection of McLaren and Williams racing cars in the world (outside of their respective factories).
Reading some Poe
I very much dislike the new wave of classic rock fans. It’s all about pictures with a joint in front of a Jimmy Page poster and images of Woodstock with a quote along the lines of “life fucks us all so drop acid, man”.
It’s great to use music as an identity but to practice your classic rock fandom so righteously, making sure everyone knows you’re a classic rock fan is just done out.
This is one seriously cool song. It just paints a nice picture in your head.
